How AI credits work, what they are used for, and how to manage your balance.
How AI credits work
AI credits are the unit of measure for AI-powered features in 247BrandHQ. Every time you ask the AI to generate, rephrase, translate, or suggest content, a number of credits is deducted from your balance.
Your monthly AI credit allowance is determined by your plan. Credits are granted at the start of each billing cycle and reset on your billing anniversary date. Unused credits from your monthly allowance do not carry over to the next month.
Credits from purchased top-up packs do not expire — they accumulate and are used only after your monthly allowance is exhausted.

Monthly credits reset on your billing anniversary date. Top-up pack credits do not expire.
Checking your credit balance
Your AI credit balance is visible in several places:
- Dashboard — a credit balance widget on the main dashboard shows your current balance and monthly usage at a glance.
- AI Studio — the credit balance is shown in the top bar of the AI Studio page.
- Settings → Billing → AI Credits — the most detailed view, showing current balance, monthly allowance, top-up pack balances, and full usage history.

Viewing usage history
The usage history log shows every AI action that consumed credits.
- Navigate to Settings → Billing.
- Select the AI Credits tab.
- The usage history table shows each action with:
- Date and time of the action
- Action type (Generate, Hashtags, Rephrase, Translate, Autopilot)
- Credits consumed
- Remaining balance after the action
- Use the date filter to view history for a specific period.
Buying additional AI credit top-ups
Who can use this: Account Owner or Billing Manager. Plan requirement: All paid plans.
If you run out of monthly AI credits before the next billing cycle, you can purchase a top-up pack.
- Navigate to Settings → Billing.
- Click Buy AI credits or Top up.
- Select a credit pack size. Packs are available in various sizes.
- Complete payment using your existing billing method (Paystack, Flutterwave, Google Play, or Apple App Store, depending on how you subscribed).
- Credits are added to your balance immediately after payment is confirmed.
What happens when credits reach zero
When your AI credit balance reaches zero:
- All AI toolbar buttons in the Composer are disabled. Hovering over them shows a message that your credits are exhausted.
- AI Studio generation features are disabled until credits are replenished.
- AI Autopilot pauses automatically. It resumes as soon as credits are available (either from a top-up purchase or the next monthly reset).
- An in-app notification and a dashboard banner notify you that your credits are exhausted.
- An email notification is sent to the workspace owner (and Billing Manager if one is assigned) when credits fall below a threshold.
